  11. I have this _ kind of setup ,with my 1200.

  20. I pulled out from the IDE Controller a 2,5"->3.5" cable about 20cm long,then i 
  21. made an 1m 40pin cable in order to reach the inside of the tower where my hard 
  22. disk & CD-rom are located.I just connected the 3,5" out of the 2,5->3,5 cable to
  23. the long cable and next with 2 connectors to HD & CD-rom.
  24. This setup was working fine while i was owning an Microbotics 1200z card with 
  25. 4megs and math-co ,but something seems to going wrong by the time i have installed
  26. my blizzard 1230 IV.
  27. Some programms crashes while the system is booting ,the are no special progs that
  28. causes this because the phenomenon is totally random.
  29. After a 3-4 reboots ,the system loads normally.The strange thing i have noticed is
  30. that if i boot with no startup-sequence and load a game ,demo or something like
  31. that and then perform a reboot ... guess? loads normal!!!.
  32. Today one friend came with his cd-rom in order to test it if it works with my
  33. amiga ,the cd was a quad speed .
  34. After we have it inside the tower and setting the jumpers in the right way ,the
  35. system refused to load (progs crashes) whatever how many reboots i made and 
  36. the pic i use for bootpic came corrupted on screen .
  37. So i think that there is some kind of data loss in transmision from the disk to
  38. the controller.
  39. If i disable the blizzard the system loads normally and both HD & CD-rom works 
  40. fine, but the system load takes at least twice time .

  42. So is something wrong with my blizzard? or perhaps the blizzard overloads the 
  43. internal IDE controller? .

  45. If anyone have even a little clue about this ,please tell me so.

  48. P.S. Both HD & CD-rom are powered up by the tower.
